2 Storey Stone Extension

This project involved the construction of a high-quality two-storey extension, carefully designed to complement and enhance the original house. A key focus was ensuring the new build blended seamlessly with the existing property, both structurally and aesthetically.

The exterior of the extension was finished in natural stonework, meticulously selected and laid to match the original house as closely as possible. This attention to detail ensured the extension appears as a natural continuation of the home rather than a later addition. Traditional building techniques were combined with modern construction standards to achieve a durable, visually cohesive result.

Internally, the two-storey extension significantly increased the living space, providing well-proportioned rooms filled with natural light. The layout was designed to maximise functionality while maintaining a smooth flow between the original house and the new extension. Structural works were carried out with minimal disruption, and all aspects of the build complied fully with current building regulations.

The completed extension not only adds substantial space and value to the property but also preserves the character and charm of the original home, delivering a timeless finish that will stand the test of time.

Complete Roof Replacement

This traditional village pub required extensive refurbishment to address long-standing structural and weathering issues. The existing roof was in very poor condition and urgently needed attention, with a significant number of roof timbers having deteriorated over time. Our team carefully removed the existing roof covering and replaced all rotten timbers as necessary, ensuring the roof structure was fully sound before completing a full re-roof using high-quality materials to provide long-term protection and durability.

In addition to the roofing works, the original windows and doors were found to be severely rotten and beyond repair. These were fully removed and replaced with modern, energy-efficient alternatives while maintaining the character of the building. New REHAU flush-welded casement windows were installed alongside REHAU sash windows where appropriate, enhancing both the appearance and performance of the property. All existing doors were replaced with robust, solid composite doors, offering improved security, insulation, and longevity.

All windows and doors were finished in a contemporary Anthracite Grey (RAL 7016), providing a smart, modern contrast that complements the building’s traditional style while significantly improving its overall appearance, comfort, and weather resistance.

Timber Window & Door Replacement with REHAU Flush Casements

Project Overview

This project involved the replacement of aging timber windows and a tired front entrance door on a residential property, with the aim of improving energy efficiency, security, and overall kerb appeal while retaining a classic, cottage-style aesthetic.

The Challenge

The existing timber windows and front door had reached the end of their lifespan. While they offered traditional charm, they required ongoing maintenance and no longer provided adequate thermal performance or security. The homeowner wanted a solution that preserved the character of the property but delivered modern performance, durability, and low maintenance.

The Solution

We replaced all timber windows with REHAU uPVC windows, featuring flush casements to closely replicate the appearance of traditional timber joinery. The frames were foiled and spray finished in Pebble Grey (RAL 7032), a soft, contemporary shade that complements both classic and modern properties.

Flush casement windows were chosen specifically to maintain the property’s original style, sitting neatly within the frame rather than overlapping, while offering all the benefits of modern window technology.

The front door was upgraded to a composite door in the Beaulieu cottage style, carefully selected to match the character of the home. Composite doors combine the look of traditional timber with exceptional strength, security, and thermal efficiency, making them an ideal choice for period-style properties.

The Result

The transformation has significantly enhanced the property’s appearance, giving it a clean, elegant finish with a timeless feel. The Pebble Grey frames provide a subtle contrast against the exterior, creating a fresh yet understated look.

In addition to the visual improvement, the homeowners now benefit from:

  • Improved thermal efficiency and reduced heat loss
  • Enhanced home security
  • Low-maintenance materials with long-lasting performance
  • Retained character without the upkeep of timber

This project demonstrates how modern window and door solutions can successfully preserve the charm of a traditional home while delivering the comfort, efficiency, and security expected from contemporary products. The REHAU flush casement windows and Beaulieu cottage-style composite door provided the perfect balance between heritage aesthetics and modern living.

Renovation and Extension and Pool

This extensive renovation and extension project was completed in 2021, transforming the original three-bedroom detached house into a luxurious five-bedroom family home. The works were carefully designed to significantly enhance both the internal living space and the overall functionality of the property, while maintaining the character and proportions of the original house.

The extension allowed for a reconfiguration of the internal layout, creating generous, light-filled bedrooms and improved living areas that better suit modern family life. High-quality materials and finishes were used throughout to deliver a refined and contemporary feel, ensuring the completed home meets the highest standards of comfort and design.

In addition to the main house, a separate outer building was constructed to accommodate a private swimming pool, providing a standout leisure feature and further elevating the property. This addition creates a dedicated space for relaxation and entertaining, seamlessly complementing the main residence.

The completed project delivers a substantial upgrade in both space and lifestyle, resulting in a high-end, five-bedroom home with premium amenities, finished to an exceptional standard.

Structural Redesign and build

This project involved the separation of a smaller ancillary building from the main house to create a dedicated music and games room. The existing structure was extremely dated, suffering from damp issues and safety concerns, and required extensive remedial works to bring it up to modern standards.

As part of the overall renovation, the outbuilding was carefully refurbished to provide a safe, comfortable and functional leisure space, while remaining sympathetic to the original property. The main house also underwent a complete re-roofing, significantly improving weather protection and long-term durability. In addition, the existing glass corridor linking the two buildings was removed, creating a clear distinction between the main residence and the newly transformed entertainment space.

The result is a well-considered upgrade that enhances both the usability and overall appearance of the property, providing versatile living and recreational areas tailored to the client’s needs.

Barn Conversion and Ground Works

This project involved the complete conversion of a traditional stone barn into a modern stone house, carefully balancing contemporary living with the character and heritage of the original structure. The existing barn was stripped back and structurally upgraded, allowing us to reconfigure the internal layout to create a bright, spacious and functional modern home while retaining the charm of the original stonework.

High-quality materials were used throughout the build, with new stonework carefully matched to the existing fabric of the barn to ensure a seamless and authentic finish. Large openings were introduced to maximise natural light, creating a strong connection between the interior spaces and the surrounding landscape.

In addition to the building conversion, the external grounds were fully completed as part of the project. This included extensive stonework, traditional boundary walls and landscaping to enhance the setting and complement the finished house. The result is a striking modern home that respects its agricultural origins while offering high-end contemporary living within beautifully finished grounds.
